Lead Maintenance Technician
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Lead Maintenance Technician to oversee day-to-day maintenance operations and support the reliable performance of facilities, equipment, and systems. In this role, you will coordinate maintenance activities, assist with troubleshooting, and help ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, a proactive mindset, and the ability to lead by example.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities across facilities and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general building system issues and recommend effective solutions.
- Coordinate daily work assignments, prioritize tasks, and help ensure timely completion of maintenance requests.
- Perform inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
- Oversee repairs, installations, replacements, and routine servicing of equipment and building systems.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used, inspections, and maintenance schedules.
- Support vendor coordination, contractor oversight, and procurement of supplies and materials as needed.
- Promote and follow safety procedures, regulatory requirements, and company standards at all times.
- Train, mentor, and provide guidance to maintenance team members as needed.
- Communicate effectively with leadership and other departments regarding maintenance priorities and status updates.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in a related field preferred.
- Several years of hands-on maintenance experience in a commercial, industrial, manufacturing, or facilities environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating maintenance tasks and supporting team operations.
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, drawings, and maintenance documentation.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and maintenance management systems is preferred.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to lift, move, and work with equipment and materials as required by the role.
